The 50s have really expanded over the piedmont of South Carolina back over to northeastern Georgia, pretty wild.

Went from 41 to 45 when the sun came out, have been stuck on that since.

I took a look and today's sun angle is approximately the same as February 8th. No wonder those late winter snows melt so fast.

Actually I think today's sun angle is equivalent to around Jan 29th.

I just got a mix of sleet down at the US1/US401 intersection in Raleigh.

Don't think we will see snow at this point. The heaviest rainfall came too early, like it typically does with anafrontal systems.

I think just a sleet shower is going to be the highlight for Raleigh. I guess we could see some flurries later on.

I actually did happen to see about 3-4 mPING reports of sleet mixed w/ rain in Burlington & Mebane.

A friend told me they saw a few sleet pellets mixed with rain. By the time I got out there, it was gone. I didn’t see anything with my own eyes so who knows.

Downsloping, upstate warm bubble, mountains, whatever you want to call it, 99% of the time, my entire life, no matter how strong the cold push, we do not drop temps during the daytime in the Upstate!! Proof in point!
