Dis gotta be some sort of early November record for Newfound Gap. Couldn’t find any sort of temperature history though ??

I've been patient over a year and still waiting to see a snowflake drop
I spent most of the evening working on this graphic, but several mountain counties are under alerts. Hoping we see some alerts (triad) tomorrow. That, In itself, would be a win.
Doubt any alerts east of mtns..usually lower elevation rural spots (surry/wilkes) will be used as a ground truth before any special statements or advisories for Winston east...so if any will be very short notice.
Most of my measurements on grassy areas are around 3" so im going with that.
Some snow mixing in to parts of Mississippi. Not many posters there, but I consider that the SE

HRRR is busting to warm on that colder layer right below that 700-850mb warm nose, I’d count that as over performing so far, which is something you don’t typically see with “cold chasing moisture” setups 
strength and placement of that incredible high..
trying to switch over in Huntsville, Ala... 34 and rain, freezing rain in the surrounding hills. Moisture cut off is not far behind though. Going to be tough to get a change over in CHA. Heard this tune a thousand times unfortunately. I'll stay up an hour or so more. The heavier bands of snow in East Tn are going to be for mid valley north, and the plateau and mountains, obviously. Even there, short-lived.

Temp rapidly falling now down to 40.2. Freezing level has dropped down below 4kft now and just waiting on the last few thousand too cool off.
should see changeover when my surface hits 36-37 according to reports form my west.

41 F IMBY, temp has dropped about 3 F since getting up 30 minutes ago and the wind is howling. Hope to see at least a few flakes out of this.

5:50. 35. Moderate snow. Normal sized flakes. Coming down nicely
Edit: (6:00) Mulch turning white. Deck slushy. I’d call it mod-heavy now

Quickly passing my snow total from last year lol. It’s ripping.
51 and liquiding lightly. May be the sun angle? Sun is out, barely above the horizon, creating a yellowish-orange sky. Sailors warning liquid snow alert!
YUGE morning rainbow. That's something you don't see every day. God will never flood the earth again. That seems good.
