Wonder if that would favor the Euro/CMC solutions more than the GFS Para. Both are bit more suppressed with the wave.
I would gladly take this Feb 26-27 event of 2004,but around 50-100 miles south of where the heaviest snow where at in that storm.
Although maybe this is the case I honestly think you can’t go wrong with saying this thing will probably trend north and west in some degree by the time we are at go time. I dont know if This storm is being directly influenced by the -NAO but it’s more that this scenario is unfolding because we have strong blocking in the NAO region .. I mean the euro and Gfs in regard to the strength of the -NAO are worlds apart right now which is why I’m skeptical the regular Gfs doesn’t really have a clue right now .. I expect that to change ... what a massive head fake from this warm up ... this is more of a light thaw

The reanalysis is smoothing over the upper low portion of the storm, most of that real heavy snow on the backside only lasted perhaps an hour or two but it was some of the heaviest snow I’ve ever seen around here
I'm also getting some December 2018 vibes.
Euro right now: 
A little NE NC snow.
If we can get the n/s to phase to the west, we'll get a storm, otherwise, we get a meh-type system.

850s here are 1 C at 174...too bad it's blazing at the surface and lower levels. Need more cold air.
Let’s not let this one slip past us ? CAD coming back as always .. things looked colder on the EURO for this time period as well

Another setup that’s gonna be 33 and rain for most of the NC Piedmont, never fails, it’ll trend colder to 33 degrees and barely any ice, gonna be slipping on that cold rain !
I had 10 inches in 3 hours at the house I was living at near the Rocky River close to the Cabarrus/Stanly county line. The lightning during the peak of it was intense and amazing to see it reflect off the snow

Doesn’t help that the Charlotte Douglas airport is one of the fastest growing in the country. Increasing that UHI.
