Storms on the NC/SC Border headed this way in Campobello so that will be 2 straight days of storms and desperately needed rain.
Wow, those have really ballooned in the past hour, looks like a big chunk of NW upstate will see some rain, with better coverage than yesterday. Should be welcome to most.Storms on the NC/SC Border headed this way in Campobello so that will be 2 straight days of storms and desperately needed rain.
I do not usually like missing out but I am glad we did today. These storms mean BUSINESS. At least half of the county above me has no power right now and things not good from Spartanburg up to Chesnee in that county either. It did get a lot cooler here though. I do not think we have had this much instability since July 2012. That Sunday was a rough one too for many of us.Definitely the best storm of the year for me. Already 1.3” of rain and still coming down. Wind gusted to 57mph and saw a 24 degree temperature drop in 11 minutes
Old stomping grounds getting rocked! Fro should be getting hammered tooView attachment 119263
I thought we were going to get that down here too but thankfully did not. The power outage map from BREC looked more like an icestorm outage map than from storms. Around 75% of Duke Energy customers in Cherokee without power. 4000-5000 CAPE will do that though.Ton of folks without power in Cherokee and Spartanburg counties. Down trees and power lines all over the place. North of 85 in Spartanburg county got hammered hard and almost all of Cherokee county got pummeled today. Had a solid 4 hours of rainfall which hopefully eases up lack of rainfall
Not trying to nitpick but I think it’s important to point out this post really only applies to North Carolina. Specifically the Raleigh crew. There absolutely has been wild cooler swing in the last 24 hours up there. Looks like y’all will avoid the worst of whatever happens for sure. The collapse of the heat on the eps might be the most impressive thing I've seen since the cold collapse a couple years ago
I figured it was time for me to pop in this summer after my spring hiatus. I see your luck hasn't changed! ?

Further south - there has not been much change across AL, GA, SC. Widespread 100+
Back door fronts at day 5-7 showing up in NC bodes well for CAD areas in SC and GeorgiaNot trying to nitpick but I think it’s important to point out this post really only applies to North Carolina. Picked up .1 today. Banner day lolNice. I got 4.25” of rain in about 2 hrs time. Guess we were making up for lost time.
In some ways I wish I had only picked up .1 today. Grass seeds/seedlings on a hill don’t take to kindly to 4” of rain in 2 hrs. Not to mention the erosion that amount of rain causes on that same hill. Just saying.Picked up .1 today. Banner day lol
It bears watching..Picked up .1 today. Banner day lol
At least you don't have any 100's in the forecast.Ugh make it stop
At least in the winter we had nice days in between the cold...View attachment 119281
