Pattern June 2022

Storms on the NC/SC Border headed this way in Campobello so that will be 2 straight days of storms and desperately needed rain.

I love the GFS! It’s got to be right! Hits Texas big bend with a tropical system, then I get remnants a few days later! ??483A8077-F655-4671-9784-1EEC9C4C169E.pngC7F6D39A-1E3B-4E79-AB31-4A3EF77F02A5.pngEECFCA0C-B4CB-47DD-A22E-DBB54DBFA671.png

Wow, those have really ballooned in the past hour, looks like a big chunk of NW upstate will see some rain, with better coverage than yesterday. Should be welcome to most.

Old stomping grounds getting rocked! Fro should be getting hammered tooBC501E10-C0B0-41AA-B2BD-C98EFF6D32C5.png

Much needed rain and it is continuing to fall. cooled down to the lower 70's as well. Hopefully we can keep the clouds and be done with the heat for the day at least.

I’m all for rooting for things to trend cooler and maybe they will. However it’s still looking like close to record heat wave for much of AL, GA, SC.

Here are the fresh 12z Euro Ensemble high temps for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of next week. The Euro operational was hotter than this but I won’t be posting those numbers as it may be a warm outlier.

Atlanta - 101, 104, 101
Albany, GA - 103, 107, 106
Augusta, GA - 102, 107, 103
Athens, GA - 102, 105, 102
Birmingham - 101, 103, 101
Columbia - 101, 106, 100
Charlotte - 100, 103, 97
Huntsville, AL - 102, 103, 101
Greenville, SC - 100, 103, 98
Macon - 104, 108, 106
Montgomery 101, 104, 104

Definitely the best storm of the year for me. Already 1.3” of rain and still coming down. Wind gusted to 57mph and saw a 24 degree temperature drop in 11 minutes

Edged out yesterday for the warmest day of the year with a high of 97.5. That makes 3 out of the past 4 days that have been the warmest day of the year.

Now we’re at the point where we are starting to get some scattered storms popping up nearby. Time to see who will cash out under one this evening.

I do not usually like missing out but I am glad we did today. These storms mean BUSINESS. At least half of the county above me has no power right now and things not good from Spartanburg up to Chesnee in that county either. It did get a lot cooler here though. I do not think we have had this much instability since July 2012. That Sunday was a rough one too for many of us.

Ton of folks without power in Cherokee and Spartanburg counties. Down trees and power lines all over the place. North of 85 in Spartanburg county got hammered hard and almost all of Cherokee county got pummeled today. Had a solid 4 hours of rainfall which hopefully eases up lack of rainfall

I thought we were going to get that down here too but thankfully did not. The power outage map from BREC looked more like an icestorm outage map than from storms. Around 75% of Duke Energy customers in Cherokee without power. 4000-5000 CAPE will do that though.
