Heat waves don’t have the balls like cold waves. Haven’t seen that type of temperature in more years than I can count. Unless we’re talking about feels like temps

The heat that's coming really sucks, at least I'm going to be at this place in a couple of evenings:
Credit to goldenisles.com, because I haven't been to a Georgia beach in forever (last beach that I had been to was at Anastasia State Park in Florida). Last time was Tybee Island in 2013, before then, I'm not sure I was 10 yet when I had visited the golden islands.

No rain over the last 4 days. The last rain we had was 0.4" May 6-7. Yards are already turning brown.

Probably better hours, too. I think mets at WRAL do pretty good, though. Just seems to be a big jump going from a TV met to a sales executive. Doesn't seem nearly as exciting.

So does Denver going from 86 to accumulation amounts of 3-7 in 24 hours finally end the "ground temps" debate?
More snow in Denver today than I've seen in ages. Damn
I don't think that debate would end if snow accumulated on top of a fire.

So do we want to discuss the tropics in the monthly threads breaking out invests and systems into their own thread or have the discussion in the 2022 hurricane season thread and breaking systems out into their own as they come?

That's how it's been in previous years. Once something gets going(aka crazy model support or NHC mentioned) it gets a thread

So, let's review the last three severe threats we have had for NC.
5/18 into 5/19 the SPC has us under a level 2 risk. Nothing happens and they lower the risk. Then we end up getting damaging storms overnight into the morning of the 20th when not under any severe risk from the SPC.
5/23 we are under a level 1 risk and no watches. End up getting multiple severe storms and tornadoes confirmed in Charlotte and Durham with damage.
Last night there's a tornado in Iredell County before a watch comes out. This morning we were under a level 2 risk and a tornado watch. Had some severe storm warnings, but the storms were not as bad as they were on 5/23 when we were under a level 1 risk and no watch.

Not even 90s today but way too hot and humid for my taste. The next four months of furnace weather is going to be like a slow torture.
Been getting digits by the boatload at the pool this past weekend from girls and getting drunk the last 4 days. I’d say summer is treating me even better then the last several summers so far

Yeah maybe when hurricane season picks up. Until then this is definitely a lot of people's least favorite season ?

Yes it is. I agree completely. I've been counting down the days since February when we have had spring like temps ever since. Fall cannot get here fast enough for me.
