Yeah that’s pain. I can remember one time where the base of sugar mountain was getting snow squalls and 60 seconds down the mountain in Baner elk was bone dry. And sugar summit was borderline blizzard conditions. Avery Co is crazyI know most everyone knows but make sure you book a cabin high up around Gatlinburg. The city itself isn't much higher than Knoxville and I've sat through many ice cold rains there watching cars come down from Ober with tons of snow on them.
Oh it's coming and I'll get sucked right in ??I can't wait for the 3km NAM to bomb a secondary lp down to 970 and obliterate the I-95 corridor only to have it vanish the next run
We normally stay in Townsend to avoid people. However, we do spend a weekend in Gatlinburg every December. We stay in the last hotel before the end of town with a trail at the entrance into the Park. We eat an early breakfast at the Pancake Pantry, hike for 10 hours, and then eat at the Brewery and walk everywhere. It's the only way to make it bearable. There ain’t enough snow on this planet to convince me to go to Gatlinburg
Dude I was just poking at you a little bit. I didn't think it so offensive that it would lead to this. No need to get this aggravated. Sorry man.Now I remembered why I wanted to stay away from this place and I should probably do it for good this time.
I really enjoy providing my thoughts and analyses on patterns + storms in this part of the world & I likely will continue to do so in the future, just not on here unfortunately.
I’ve grown really tired of the barrage of condescending posts indirectly aimed at me, even from “moderators” here, and I honestly can’t take it anymore.
It’s been a fun ride
How many years we have to bank to get a 3-4” event?I got 3 1+inch snows last year. Pretty sure I used up my allotment for the next 6 years. 2028 should be nice.
