September Sizzling Summer Segway

Agreed. Give me all the cold and snow. I don't know why people hate it when probably 80 percent or more of the year has highs above 55 and 10-20 percent or more depending on location is 90+
You are young. Older people don't like shoveling snow. Plus you risk injury by walking outside if it's icy.

I very much prefer mild weather in winter for a plethora of reasons. However, I think it’s silly to argue with everyone else who does want it to be cold and snowy. Whatever, it’s what they want- more power to them. I can’t help that they can’t see the light!

Dude, relax, we all hope for at least average snowfall each year. Outside of the mountains, and barring a massive eruption of volcanoes, we aren't going to see 30" of snow and temps below 30 for highs for days on end. Of course, 2020 is cursed, so maybe in December! Bring it on!

Dont mess with the snow weenies its personal!!!
I was actually hesitant to join this forum. Used to stalk americanwx and they weren’t too kind to anyone who was different.... so they didn’t exist . Here seemed fine though, no one is bothered ! I had never seen grown men behave like 4 year olds who didn’t get what they wanted in the toy store. Americanwx is nuts .

Dude. This is the southeast US. We don't get feets of snow and shovel daily. Heck, most folks in this forum don't even own a snow shovel. We aren't New England or the Great Lakes.

Augusta GA and Columbia SC hasn't had a ground covering winter event in over 7 1/2 years.

I wonder what each location's longest drought is. It would be interesting to see if this was a normal occurrence or an unusual length of time with no snow.

I’m not very familiar with Augusta, but I personally can’t remember Columbia ever going this long without a measurable snow. Even back in the early 90s when Charlotte went from December 1989 to March 1993 without a snowfall of an inch or more, Columbia lucked out a couple times on southern sliders. That’s something I mentioned in a post the other day... the last true southern slider that I can remember was January 2014 (the storm that caused the snowjam in Atlanta)

Is Virginia considered the SE ? I personally consider it the Mid Atlantic and i don't consider KY the SE either.

I can’t wait for weeks of cold and snow !

Haven’t seen much on this, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a low end severe risk as the remnants of Beta pass through on Friday. 3km NAM has a broken line of storms developing across eastern GA and the western Carolinas Friday afternoon. Sounding in upstate SC could support a little severe weather too.2D6E9488-11D1-4609-9AC7-B2B99297A42F.pngCB6BF728-AD84-42BD-8393-8D84590EBD29.png

I don’t think less pollution has anything to do with it. We are still emitting co2 and it’s not like even if we stopped it would mean rapid cooling.

I think you forgetting that September isn’t supposed to be hot all month

Nam looks much more bullish with that severe setup, looks a bit like something from the spring with some EML advection, nice θe gradient along a warm front, steep mid level LRs, nice deep layer and low level shear, could be some hail in this type of setup 6B5B5919-B94B-48C7-98D8-04AFA14CA044.png8931D094-8A41-4A07-8863-F6C431B560DA.png64EA4CAB-2C68-4B1B-BA00-D8ACA2C3B78D.pngD3F41946-9E97-4079-B605-8FA333133954.png

I asked that a couple years ago on american (regarding CAE) and was told of a stretch that was on the order of 14 or 15 years without measurable snowfall a few decades back but i can't remember the specifics. I think they went much of the 90s without as well.

Euro would be a high end severe weather type look, it digs that trough early to our west allowing a warm sector to develop over the SE, it’s the only solution but woah, this is some stuff that rivals Easter Sunday, but more of a QLCS look EE205B35-49C6-45E6-8588-35F73CFF26B8.jpeg5A5695BC-311A-4836-9F4A-4D5A399F931D.jpeg2CA2E99C-BE1C-4ED8-97F9-CAD1EBA86C2B.pngCC91BB0B-E7DE-4095-BC58-92C5F6D4A1C4.jpeg

Dang for only 5 days out that is a major changes compared to other models. Fear the NW trend?

Even Oklahoma might see something on Sunday if the Euro is right. I had written this cold front off as nothing more then a nice cool off before but now the Euro has my interest piqued.
