What a soaker. It was pouring rain when I went to bed now it’s the same sound on the roof when I wake up. Swamp
2:30 AM Euro runs hit different. One thing I absolutely hate about daylight savings time is that we get the models 1 hour later .. such a buzz kill
Since i don't get physical snow anymore, maybe i can start grading winters on virtual snow. That's worth at least a B+!Whew boy.... it was only a matter of time before we hit on a GFS run.View attachment 134241
Gonna be hard to drought this summer, with all the rain you’ve received this winter and fall! Gonna be a bumper crop of peaches and as we roll into winter next year, with a Nino possible, next winter will be bangin’ for y’all! What a soaker. Peaches are probably gone after Wednesday morning. 27-28 will kill them.Gonna be hard to drought this summer, with all the rain you’ve received this winter and fall! Gonna be a bumper crop of peaches and as we roll into winter next year, with a Nino possible, next winter will be bangin’ for y’all!
The last chance would be 0 with a 999 mb low over Atlanta. Might get Shetley some nice rain, though.View attachment 134252

The euro and Canadian hold back and show a storm at day 10. They are very similar in how it plays out, which just provides wintery weather to the mountains and foothills of Va. I would go with this outcome at the moment.Yep. This is the 2nd or 3rd time the GFS has had a similar blockbuster storm in that time frame. The Euro and Canadian have a storm in some form or fashion as well. I wouldn't be surprised to see us close out the "winter" will something like this. Something like this would wipe out the Bradford Pear population. Bring it on!

My guess is it has been so warm and there's so much more vegitation versus this time of year normally that it necessitates them being issued. Why do we get freeze warnings when winter is not over? Are they not strictly designed around seasons or are they dynamic depending on preceding warm/growing spells. It's not Spring yet.
It's for growing season and farmers that freeze and frost advisories are issued. With February sitting in the 70's and 80's for most of the South, there has been growing and budding going on.Why do we get freeze warnings when winter is not over? Are they not strictly designed around seasons or are they dynamic depending on preceding warm/growing spells. It's not Spring yet.
Rah had something in the afd the other day about the frost/freeze program starting 3/12 can't remember if they said this the normal date or due to the warmth thoughWhy do we get freeze warnings when winter is not over? Yeah due to the warmth they moved up the date for frost and freeze advisory’s and warnings since the growing season was well underwayRah had something in the afd the other day about the frost/freeze program starting 3/12 can't remember if they said this the normal date or due to the warmth though
we went 20 days or so here without getting below freezing. We Normally don’t see freeze warnings till April since it’s common to go below freezing multiple times per week through March in a normal winter. This year however all but the biggest trees have bloomed and the cold can catch people by surprise when we’ve had low temps in the upper 40,s and low 50’s for weeks. Now all of the sudden it’s noon and 39 degrees with many nights below freezing about to happen. Hence the early freeze warnings. Why do we get freeze warnings when winter is not over? That's skews it, but there are 12 hits in the western Carolinas with a handful that are legit hits. Still have zero faith in the GEFS.View attachment 134278I think it might be skewed a bit
If that solution verified with half of the amounts, then chainsaws will be the most heard sound around these parts for a while.Just a little skewed. Can you imagine this Board if that verified?
