Jeez, she takes up the whole southeast. No wonder her man doesn't follow her

Yeah, what a bunch of shift!
I'm not even in the cone at the 5 o'clock update!

Eye looks to be shrinking/ tightening up, per radar!

Latest NHC track has 160 mph winds Sun 2pm just at landfall at the keys!! Per new 5pm update!

The keys are going to get raked if that track holds. Tampa better watch out as well.

Looks good, NHC keeps weakening it sooner and sooner now a tropical storm Before even getting to Georgia

With less Cuba interaction I beat 00z runs tick east a bit . Irma is having no trouble gaining latitude

If you think she stays onshore hehe

I say she gets in the GOM ridge is pumped and placement shifts west more with each run

From a high end Cat 4, low end Cat5 to a TS in 24 hr's? Not to mention they have it srengthening right before? That's an awful lot of energy to dissipate that quickly. Where in the hell is that energy going? It's sure not in the form of Precip from some of the hydrologic forecasts.

Rain totals ramped up especially in east GA.

Your right, assuming it does ride up the spine, i dont buy the decrease in wind speed so sudden.

18z GFS is coming in even further in line with Euro so far.

The interaction with SW I can see that but that's going to be some isane energy transfer. That could produce some crazy winds in the mountains if that transpires.
Yes the mountains, problem is there is a false narrative going around that hurricane force winds will reach north Georgia . I just don't see it unless your at a higj elevation like you mentioned

Haven't seen much discussion from the local news on the severe aspect of all of this. Looks like most of N GA will be on the east side... I would assume tornado's/severe weather will also add misery to the already horrible forecast.

18z GFS gonna try to send it to the Gulf. lol what.

I'm not hearing anything except for gusts possible per the maps posted by many. If you trust Ryan Maue, he says that there could be hurricane force gusts up in Georgia.

If gfs would look straight up, she be starring at the gulf
