Tropical Hurricane Ian

There's been a lot of talk saying welp people should of left, and although I agree that you should pay attention and leave when told, there was just not much time from Ft. Myers south. I think the evac order was sent out Tuesday afternoon. These are mainly older people, it's already raining and windy, hotels are booked by then. The storm was on top of them quickly here after cuba.
It's also alot of Amish people there that don't have cars.

... I really really hope this is an overdone early report because yikes

The sheriff of Lee County, Florida, told "Good Morning America" on Thursday morning that deaths from the storm in the area were in the hundreds.

"We have fatalities in the hundreds," Sheriff Carmine Marceno said.

That's why you evacuate even when you aren't ordered to if you are anywhere near the storms path.

Terrible to hear and wish them a quick recovery, but stories like this is why you leave. They don't give evacuation orders for no reason. If you go under one you need to leave.
Bingo! Leave , no excuses! Plenty of warning

High tide is at noon tomorrow, almost the same time as landfall. Downtown will be underwater

I’m six miles from downtown in Mount Pleasant, it’s gonna be pretty rough tomorrow

Ian is clearing land quick, while it is void of convection around the center it is still moving almost due east.

Run the loop and you can easily see it

There should be a legit severe threat in ENC tomorrow, DPs racing up to upper 60s close to 70 and in that favorable NE sector of landfalling TC, those jet dynamics too

View along Estero Boulevard in Fort Myers from the Bay Inn at Lani Kai to the pool of what was formerly Silver Sands Resort. Colorful building still standing is The Whale. Just sand and debris where a gas station, multiple shops, restaurants, and residences should be
