Wintry 1/7/17-1/10/17 Winter Storm

PV lobe nosing south in Manitoba at 60 hr. For us east coasters this is important

Very nice cold push...hr 66....light snow developing AR, MS, into west AL

Northern area of precip definitely lighter as it enters AL/GA @ 69h

The 2nd shortwave in the northern branch just coming into view over central Manitoba. it's also trending a bit deeper & further W even thru HR 60

And then the trend breaks apart and the shortwave weakens. Fantastic...

Precip @ 72h:

GFS has a much stronger trough over the NE/Lakes/MA vs CMC/Euro/UKM which should help keep this wave south

Pressures lowering in the gom...light band of snow along 20 it appears pushing into bama by hr 72 approaching GA

I have bootcamp at 5:30. This better end well!

No bueno for the Carolinas

So far it looks similar to 18z, but less precip and slightly worse temps.

I'm waiting for the big dog bite.....

Man this is so confusing. One minute everyone says this is going to be a huge run, the next minute its a horrible run. Just end the madness already.

Yeah this one isn't going to cut it. It starts as rain in the areas that get the precip.

Shortwave is slightly north of 18z and the wave following this is a little more NW so we may actually see more precip over NC vs the 18z run or maybe not

Too many people calling pbp that have no business calling pbp.

Actually check that, looks like a good event for Georgia overall.
