Just noticed that none of the 3 GSP stations (GSP, AVL, CLT) have recorded a temp of 32 or below since 2/18. Pretty crazy when even AVL hasn't been below freezing in nearly 3 weeks!
KATL is currently running +12.7F for the month. We aren't even in reality anymore.
Well if you don't use the 1981- 2010 climo its prob only a few above.KATL is currently running +12.7F for the month. We aren't even in reality anymore.

I think they already are viewed as normal.Very true. Our climate norms are extremely dated. In a few years these prolonged AN periods will be viewed as normal.

March 1960 was -14 on 81-10 for us.. man keep warming March like this and it’s gon be -20 below average looking back at itThe +12.7 is based on the 1990-2020 averages, so it would likely be +14F based on the prior.
I haven’t seen the 1990-2020 climo switch yet on some sites. Still seeing 81-10. Local Mets still using the old climo data. The +12.7 is based on the 1990-2020 averages, so it would likely be +14F based on the prior.
Read it switched in May 2021 but I haven’t seen that data used.I haven’t seen the 1990-2020 climo switch yet on some sites. Still seeing 81-10. Local Mets still using the old climo data.
Good deal, glad to see it being used. The NOAA website has been using the new normals for over a year at least, at least from my experience.

I like using the new normals, I just don’t want us to forget what the normals use to be.Good deal, glad to see it being used.
260+hrs away.Strong cold phases of MJO are going to continue to want to keep troughs over the east.. as we gets things closer to medium and short range we see that trend happening View attachment 134107
That particular image is but as you can see it's trending colder as we get closer plus current cold shot is not 260+hrs away, it's here now260+hrs away.
This is even funnier because this is a textbook cold chasing moisture setup as depicted by the GFS. Already know how that will end.
Yea I always forget I live south of the Southeast. It never gets here but hopefully you guys get that cold weather you are wanting. That particular image is but as you can see it's trending colder as we get closer plus current cold shot is not 260+hrs away, it's here now
Wasn’t this cold shot portrayed a lot colder not long agoThat particular image is but as you can see it's trending colder as we get closer plus current cold shot is not 260+hrs away, it's here now

Looks like good agreement on the possibility of seeing some snow. Right now, it looks like northern NC up into Va. Probably little to no accumulation, but it would still be nice to see some flakes falling from the sky. We're also within 5 days so maybe...
I’m definitely buying, all models showing something in RoanokeAlright freaky snow people...we buying?

I think you @BullCityWx and the gso/va folks are in a decent spot but we are all likely going to be fighting over getting any decent banding and longer duration precip to wetbulb the 850-925 layer and break snow through the surface. Right now it looks like brief onset sleet to a nice 36-38 and rain for many of us
