Different climates. In the western Carolina’s the humidity is generally gone by the first to second week of SeptemberIt's been humid well into October the last several years making going to the state fair miserable. Dew points have also been in the mid 70s for months when that was usually more common near the coast.

Living in Fayettnam, NC .. Usually brought nice cool crisp Fall Weather. (Around the first of the School year)..
NO, actually, school started in Sept.. (Or later), Because ALOT of Us Kids back in the Day picked crops (Like Tobacco & Sweet taters etc) .. We were once paid to bring in those crops.. AND the School boards had "Set Dates" on school starting, depending on crop harvest(s)..School starts first week of August here. You must have went back to school late.

Despite last month's heavy rains which mostly fell in a 5 day period my beautiful green grass has now gone brown again. We need the rain as much as possible before we head into our typical September - October dry spell.Lol 3k

It's 3.57F per century. That's huge when your talking about dew points much less temps.Looks about the same to me .
Having seen any mixing here. Still in the lows 70s.Been consistently mixing into the 65-68 range in the afternoons pwats have also been fairly normal. We aren't exactly in a big tropical airmass
