Pattern August '22

Won’t be long now. Football season around the corner! Fall... potentially around the corner but we all know it could be October before we even feel that around here. Don’t forget October of 2019 when it reached 100° early on. Either way it’s hard to believe we are this far into 2022.

Usually in August you start seeing subtle hints that fall is near.

It be so cute watching the NWS grids for FWD.

The afternoon forecaster(s) always tries their damndest to find any reason to knock down a forecasted 100*F+ high to 99*F, and it never ends up working out for them. ?

Off and on rain and mid 70’s has been fantastic and much needed. Can’t wait for Fall and this type of weather shows that it’s soon approaching. Meteorological summer is on its end and we probably have about a month and half before it starts cooling off. I’m hoping that we get a reverse of the last few years and fall starts on time. Last few years we’ve seen a delay in summer starting but prolonging further into September. That hasn’t been the case this year and we have had our fair share of hot weather so hopefully we see fall start on time.

Today's high at DFW was an intra-hour 101°F.

And another record maximum low of 83°F was set this morning (previous record was 82°F in 2011).

^Am I really that CLUELESS that I posted that on a GENERAL weather discussion thread? Fark me dead. I really should think more before hitting enter, which probably won't happen.

Yet another record maximum low was tied this morning at DFW (84°F, previously set in 2011).
That was a great winter too! Lots to look forward too in the coming months! ???
Currently 87

Yes, the winter following Summer 2011 was indeed great. Warm & dry, giving way to another torch of a Spring/Summer, including the notorious Morch! :p

Greg Fishel's weather service is now live on his FB page, if any of you Triangle folks are interested. $3 or $5/month, depending on the package you want.
