Seeing some flakes on my security camera back in Clayton. My temp at my weather station says 35 degrees so I guess its possible. Obviously mainly rain though

Yeah my camera shows what looks like snowflakes. It's just drizzle at my house

@Webberweather53
I had 1/4 inch snow/sleet.
Maybe .02 Ice
This is my best guess!

Edit: I do know there was 3.5 inches of snow right on NC/Va. line Surry County/Carrol County Va. less than 5 miles from Mt. Airy

Thank you for that! Wow the gradient in snow was really that large across Surry Co? I actually had someone send me a tweet earlier today from southern Stokes Co near King, NC whose power went out this morning for several hours w/ sagging trees saying they had >0.2" of ice. Also kinda crazy to see that kind of gradient in ice too between your location and theirs

Been under 4-6” one other time this winter and ended up with a few flakes. Maybe good old faithful NW snow can deliver this time. Atleast I can always count on it haha

@accu35 going to get buried over that way.

I pick my places carefully, hey I'm a chaser been doing this 20 plus years

Well, HRRR still showing a chance at snow showers tomorrow morning. In Charlotte we take anything we can get after getting the shaft north/south/east/west all winter.

Wow Gatlinburg looking to absolutely crush it this winter season!

I just wanted to throw a last thought in on model verification with this system. ICON had the snow mapped pretty close I think. We don't get to get soundings to criticize and it does not show mix so can't be wrong there, but snow footprint wasn't terrible, right?
