Pattern Nippy November

so i take it you will think we are all crazy when we argue over a half inch of snow fluctuations on models runs this winter.

Oh absolutely :p online weather debates in New England were over fluctuations of 5 to 10 inches (due to banding placements). Getting caught between main band and secondary band with mid-level goodness would result you going from 15-25" event to 5-15" event... and yes, people do get upset over that in New England haha.

Yeah, I'm not going to consider the NAM quite yet at this time. However, if it still indicates that much snow within 48 hrs/24 hrs of the event, I'll definitely consider it.

Temps were hovering around 36/37 through most of the evening with a light breeze. The breeze died around 10 and we are down to 33 already

Uhhhh, is the GFS showing a warm core again at 150? man that's something else to do that.

I also noticed (as you see I'm not really fully paying attention) that the timing is now Friday or later instead of Thursday lul.

I'm not sure how you do it up there in the tundra. On a serious note though lots of 30 and below temps where the wind has died while mid 30s where it's still stirring. Dropped to 31.8 here but the wind picked back up now 35

Yeah, the second storm is slowing down. Still time to trend either way plus this is November and Thanksgiving hasn't even came yet. Lots of winter left

College dupage gefs members are not available, is there another site with the members? Pivotal doesn't have them

Weird temp profiles going on at CHA airport. Winds staying less than 3 mph to calm. I've long not trusted this NWS official site as accurate.

20:53-- 38
21:53-- 35
22:53-- 38
23:53-- 35

Dew points steadily dropping though.

All the models has slowed for the second storm. If we can speed this up a bit than game on

Congrats Joplin, Mo.. but hey, you gotta admit, that poor town deserves all the snow-white love they can get.

Edit: Nevermind, they actually had a blizzard that year in Feb 2011, before their super tornado.

Free maps right now so can't see.. but seems the Euro may be showing some thunderboomers at the end of the run.
