Winter -
Oh my bad brick was under the impression you was a boomer with the gifs you send and the other corny stuff, reminds me of stuff my grandparents would sendBoomer? I'm Gen X. 80s were awesome.
I had a Korean coworker who left for Ilinois-Champaign. She told me that her brother who still lives outside of Seoul pays 15 dollars for two gig speeds.Lets riot anyway. I'm tired of my internet bill going up.
Piedmont Electric Cooperative starts literally not even half a mile from the house and every dadgum time our lights go out, we can drive up to St Marys road and all the houses have lights on. It’s possible they all have generators but I doubt it.Duke-Progress Energy was approved for ~16% rate increase. ~8% starting this month and then ~4% next year and other ~4% year after.
I was shocked to get this notice tonight from them and over what exactly? Further shocked at the WRAL phone call where the guy gave little to no information as to why.
edit: Makes me concerned about Duke-Progress being able to sustain us should we get any real snow event this winter.
I should do BuceesGA since I live so close.Or you could go with "EmersonBiggunsGA"

You better book a trip to Snowshoe real soon if you want to.I sure hope I get to put those 2 big sleds I purchased at an estate sale for $5 each to use this year.
Same. New year, same result. I actually have a couple trips planned to snowshoe, one late this month and one later in March, and two trips to Colorado in between. At this point I just hope we can keep enough cold between the warmth to keep the southeastern ski areas open. So far it’s been enough cold to manage, but nowhere is fully operational yet.You better book a trip to Snowshoe real soon if you want to.
GFS says welcome to la Nina! Huge SE ridge. 75 degrees in Dallas, and the GEFS gives a nod of approval. This is the 3rd week in January. I don't see this pattern reversing in time for the first week in February glory. Towel is thrown...I'm out.
Maybe we shouldn't have a monopoly controlling our grid... take into account their ties with many of our legislatures as well.. corrupt. NDuke-Progress Energy was approved for ~16% rate increase. ~8% starting this month and then ~4% next year and other ~4% year after.

But it will move east….Right..RIGHT???So.. congrats Seattle lol
No. It will not. It moves north and northeast. But it will move east….Right..RIGHT???
Yeah, overnight models didn't look great for the SE. The initial cold is focused in the west and we just get glancing shots (cool downs between rain). Even the CFS at the end of its run (first week of February) had this look:
It appears the MJO us going to win.

**CFS is a joke, but it's still disheartening.....
We just kicked it to 2025.boy we kicking the can
I hate all these maps that go beyond a week because they are so often wrong. If it's outside 180 hours it's not probable either way. Get it within and it's a higher chance.
Only useful for finding patterns and if it locks into consistency. If it doesn't, it's meaningless. It should keep existing just for that reason but taking it seriously or confirming what someone said when they lack consistency after a cluster of days is pointless when you never should have believed something with low accuracy at that range to begin with.I hate all these maps that go beyond a week because they are so often wrong.
Awww, the good 'ol days. You remember when we used to have to worry about things like warm noses, Gulf convection robbing moisture transport, dry air eating up all the precip, etc.? We thought we had it rough then! ?
How much further down the line can we go? Spring will be here soonLooks more like the reflection of the pacific jet picking up, which we actually want in time because down the line that would eventually favor a Aleutian low
Dude it's Jan. 5th but at least you're keeping it in the appropriate thread. How much further down the line can we go? Spring will be here soon
Here in the Deep South we have a little over a month left before winter is usually over. Now the upper south is still in play even into March. How much further down the line can we go? Spring will be here soon
A little over a month huh? So, Feb. 10th things gonna be a lot quieter in here I guess. Here in the Deep South we have a little over a month left before winter is usually over. Now the upper south is still in play even into March.

Feb 15 is usually my cutoff date for I-20 and southward unless it’s a crazy year like 1993 and 2009A little over a month huh? So, Feb. 10th things gonna be a lot quieter in here I guess.
That's interesting thanks.
Alright I give up. What is HAARP and why should I care?I should have known this was going to happen when BAM Weather said they were 70% sure of a PV split and favorable cold in the east. Always go opposite whatever they say. Notice the timing. It's all about the money. The more I see, the more I believe HAARP is real and being used.
