Should we just cancel winter already?? Too depressing in here, think I'll boycott this thread and wait to see what actually happens.
Turns out TT was having trouble properly displaying the Cansip, the corrected version looks more realistic SMHCansips is my jam! Not a bad look! Love all the western heat looks!View attachment 24807View attachment 24808View attachment 24809
Routing for you down there Phil. You may not always get some snow, however, I hope you get freezes down there to get rid of those nasty frogs.Folks,
Winter will be here ... in about 5 to 7 weeks. It'll be typical ... some cold, some cold rain ... some flurries ... some ice (except down here) ... then it'll get colder ... how much is anyone's guess right now ... but there is no reason, based on modeling, that January can't be one to post about ...

Damn Webb. Now I understand Brick ... this one puts me 5 miles south of "Maybe Snow" ...
So long as not ZR, may make that road trip anyways ...That different color is clear, for sleet
I have no idea but my guess is bad. There is no "good" index for SE winter anymore, trust me on this....![]()

If this winter becomes a modoki and fails, I wish to move to ban the word modoki. Lol. It is beginning to rank up there with "rates will overcome!" And "the warm nose is overplayed"A warmer Indian Ocean increases the likelihood of a modoki El Niño, which intern increases the STJ in the southeast.

Every smiling face Ben Noll post I have seen lately has been bad for us. I assume when I see a JB or Judah Cohen post, it will be positive for winter lovers in the east. When I see a Ben Noll post, I assume negative.![]()

+12 degree jackpot over our house! When we fail, at least we do it right. No half measures!Take a good look at these anomalies! Get use to them, as they will be very common the next 4 months!View attachment 24881
Don’t sweat the details. We’re not in NAM’s wheelhouse yet. At this range just look at the globals for general pattern ??Take a good look at these anomalies! Get use to them, as they will be very common the next 4 months!View attachment 24881
Cold rain?It’s happening!View attachment 24906
It’s a step down process! First Brent gets snow, then the next rainstorm is South of that one, then the 3rd is suppressed and Alexandria LA gets snowCold rain?

This looks optimistic
I see an ssw, probably won’t do us any good though lolA well defined polar vortex staying near the north pole = strong +AO is what I'm seeing. Correct me if I'm wrong.
We might actually end up needing one here shortly. The wait time for those effect to be felt down where we are is like a month and a half or so ... if we get it soon it may hit us in the core of the winter when we need it to hitI see an ssw, probably won’t do us any good though lol
For the last several years those have turned out as worthless as Cohens SAI. ?We might actually end up needing one here shortly.
