Can't help but notice a sudden burst of earthquake activity (mostly small) over the last few weeks in Tennessee area. Even one in Ohio yesterday.
 
My brother stepped on a copperhead in his kitchen when the light was off. Occurred in Wilkes but went to Surry hospital.
 
So few weeks back went down to Myrtle for the weekend. I hadn't stayed down on the boardwalk since before I had my daughter so about 4 years or so. Watched 12 people get put in the paddy wagon on 3 separate occasions, bunch of other people get arrested. Also some prostitutes, drug deals etc. All from my balcony. Although it was entertaining, it's crazy how far it has gone the past decade. Sure there was always stupid kids, I was one of them. On a weather related note it did hail twice(small) and got to see an awesome lightning show over the ocean.

Just a tip for our younger posters. The bike cops in Myrtle are there so they can ride past your car and see in at what your doing or have, don't be dumb and have things in plain sight.

My family stays at North Myrtle when we go. We will go down to Broadway at the Beach, but stay away from the old Pavilion section of Myrtle.

Generally I do too or go to the NC beaches, but guess I was feeling nostalgic or something and wanted to stay closer to the action, New Hotel was nice but that area South of the skywheel isn't like the old Pavilion days.

Myrtle beach need to take the same path PCB has been doing the past 5-10 years. Demo the run down bars,stores and hotels. Rebuild new, buy out all the older homes and replace them with more expensive homes. Make it too expensive for the crap to stay and they will leave. The price to visit will go up but it’s worth it.

Seems like that's happening. In my picture above the really tall building beyond the sky wheel is brand new and around 300-500 a night, the building I was in was new in the past year. But it's all the old motels and homes in the area that need to be bought out. I'm guessing it's about 5 years away atleast.
 
Myrtle beach was the place to be during the Pavilion days. Enough memories to carry me a lifetime. Even in Highschool Myrtle beach was “ok”. We would get a group of friends, rent a ------ house, and go ride the strip for a week. Fun times. I’m going to Myrtle Beach next week for a little golf trip with some guys from my cc. I went to Murrels Inlet last year and it still had that old Myrtle Beach feel to it. Those Lee’s Inlet Kitchen hush puppies with honey butter have never failed me
 
I prefer going to the OBX now, but the kids like to go to North Myrtle because the campground we stay at has a big pool and an arcade, and all the other things like mini golf and rides. Plus, my parents pay for us to stay there.
 
I stayed at the Polynesian in Myrtle this year. Rough area. Prostitutes at Burger King drive through then cops came swooping in after someone else then they darted off. Looked like they was on meth. Doors locked at dark and line was wrapped around the building. I tried ----’s Last Resort it was good. And much better part of town IMO than where I stayed.There was a drunk lady in our parking deck with a taser in her hand threatening to tase our hotel security officer because he was black. We quickly walked by into our room.

Love some Drunken Jack's. Also, if you haven't been to the Chesapeake House at the north end of Myrtle, you should give it a shot. It's about the best place I've found down there, through the years.

I love Chesapeake House. I think it's the best seafood place down there. A lot better than all the buffet joints.
 
My favorite place to eat was Simply Southern Smokehouse in South Carolina. Real mean buffet for the price. Country food. Honestly better than Paula Dean’s buffet at the boardwalk for 1/3 of the price.

I enjoy Biminis, I think in N Myrtle, they also happen to have one in Greenville! Good stuff!
