Misc Summer Sizzlin Whamby Thread

Braves are going to be giving some big time thanks to Riley if they go on to win the division. When he was called up, much of the offense was slumping. Braves were 16-12 in May, but it could've easily been a kinda bad record if it weren't for Riley being involved in several clutch moments. He's cooled down now (despite a great game in his last start), but he kept the team floating until some guys got out of slumps.

For you folks complaining about the lack of heat, keep in mind that it is still SPRING. That's right, summer has not even started yet.
Keep in mind average highs are in the mid and upper 80s rn regardless of what side of the solstice we are on (87/66 average for this date RDU hardly springlike) just because it’s “astronomical spring” doesn’t suddenly make this weather any more normal as it isn’t ... tbf we had a hot May so getting May weather in June balances the scale a bit.

For a change I'm relieved to be going into a normal summer pattern. I'd much rather that then the pattern we were in for what seemed like forever...

Edit: It better not storm though when I'm trying to go to the Braves game in 5 days man...

Speaking of the Braves.... this team is playing some pretty good baseball right now (offense is great). This weekend's series with the Phillies, might just set the tone for the rest of the season in the National League east. Wish I was there for tonight's game.

Tonight's game was just amazing! This team has amazing energy and never gives up... I love watching them! Can't win them all, but they definitely never quit. A great win tonight!

If this summer repeats, 25 days of dry and 3 days of deluge, it’s gonna suck! The big dry is here again, I already have to water the garden!??
No rain in sight!

Its not forecast to get above 88-89 over the next couple of weeks here, maybe we won't hit 90 all of June.

Missed out on another today. Looks to be training a bit as well. Wouldn’t happen if I was there.View attachment 20463

At least you're getting it. There has been heavy rain all around since yesterday and I've had nothing but sprinkles. I finally gave up and put the sprinklers out.

Yeah good thing I’m getting rain back home and not where I’m at now. I don’t want it to rain on my vacation. Hope you get some good rain though and not me.

Our best chance of rain will be when a tropical system comes in. We probably face 1-2 months of dry weather here, while GA and NC get too much rain.

As the last system showed, an organized tropical system is far from necessary. All most really need is slow moving tropical moisture as was the case earlier this month.

Remember what JB said, wherever the summer rains flood, will see bountiful snow in the winter. Watch out north-west NC. Sorry rest of the south east.

Some areas not far from here flooded as bad as, if not worst than, was the case with Irma and Hermine. Bluffton, SC, was hit very hard. So, I guess that means record breaking snow there next winter per JB.

This theory must only work in certain locales. 22 inches of rain between July and August last year, barely got 3% of that as a snow total .

Exactly. Nobody is getting any rain except the foothills near and around Wilkes county for the rest of the summer. And temps are going to routinely be AOA 100 until September. This will be the worst heat and drought you've ever seen. That I can tell you.

I think we may be able to see if this forecast verifies before that outflow boundary to our north gets here.
