OLSONNNNN! Now this is when I get anxious.
My dad was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan when he was a kid, remained a fan when they moved to LA and I just grew up a fan.
Alright man, that makes sense. My dad was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan when he was a kid, remained a fan when they moved to LA and I just grew up a fan.
Little surprised they used Chris Sale here

I don't think we'll win against the Dodgers.
Save sale for game 1…I’m not at all it’s his bullpen day so it’s not really different

Save sale for game 1…
Think he was going to be unavailable regardless involving Saturday considering the babying treatment he received over the year (correct considering his injury history) and the fact it’s going to be very hot in LA on Saturday.
Martin (or maybe Elder) may be available to come back by game 3, but again, the pitching situation is as bad as 2020, though the schedule is not as bad as it was then. Braves will probably have just one shot to make it uncomfortable instead of two and that’ll be Sunday and Sale.
Save sale for game 1…
My guess is they go Perez, Sale, Mahle, Kerr, Sale

The earliest he’d be available is game 3 and he is better at home anyway…
He would be on 5 days rest if he pitched Sunday so it’s possible. I know he’s better with more rest but it’s all hands on deck in the Playoffs

Are you forgetting that he's IL'ed?
The earliest he can come off of it is literally October 6th/Tuesday next week. So no, he is not a roleplayer in game 1.
There was some chatter about Elder throwing, but he would also be a hail mary and hasn't pitched in a game since August.
So yes, game 1 has no choice but to be a bullpen game.
With a $1B roster the should win.You would never know by watching today's game that the Braves were 5-1 vs the Dodgers in the Regular Season. Like I've said before, the Dodgers save their best for the postseason. Braves look pitiful today. Dodgers win the series in 3.
There was no way to win without a starter. If I was Walt Weiss I would of at least put Ritchie in that game instead of Smith-Shawver.You would never know by watching today's game that the Braves were 5-1 vs the Dodgers in the Regular Season. Mahle will have 3 days of rest so to me that would be the better move. Sale should get another day but either way he could probably go tomorrow if that is the decision.Should Sale pitch tomorrow? I say yes!

No defense. Especially pass defenseFlorida Gators are definitely struggling that's a surprise
I think you will agree with me that the Braves must win today. You don't wanna go down 0-2 against the Dodgers in a 5 game series. There was no way to win without a starter. If I was Walt Weiss I would of at least put Ritchie in that game instead of Smith-Shawver.
Yes no doubt. Would be difficult for any team to come back from being 0-2. Even if it were the NLCS it would still be very challenging.I think you will agree with me that the Braves must win today. You don't wanna go down 0-2 against the Dodgers in a 5 game series.

I think they will go Sale tomorrow and Mahle game 3 then you could go Sale game 5
Hmmm…
COMMENTARY
Chris Sale will want the ball in Game 2. The Braves shouldn’t give it to him
KR is an idiot!

From elsewhere fwiw and I do agree they shouldn’t have used him in game 3 out of the bullpen when they were up by 4 runs late:
Considering sale's injury history...it would be risky to pitch him today....it is the risk of using starters out of the bullpen during the postseason.
@GaStorm @Tsappfrog20
Tbh I think it's a good decision for the Braves. Think about it, they were only a swing or 2 away from taking game one, even with Skubal having a solid 6 2/3. I think they can steal game 2 and then have a fully rested Sale and they are in the driver's seat. If Sale goes today and he's not fully rested, they lose and then their in a bad spot.He may be an idiot and I don’t think he’s right, but Weiss is doing what the idiot thinks is best:

The Atlanta Braves will not start Cy Young-winning pitcher Chris Sale for Game 2 of the NLDS against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday.
In his stead, left-hander Ray Kerr, who started Game 3 of the Wild Card Series for the Braves, will make the start for the Braves.
