My mom was also a Brooklyn Dodgers fan when she was young. But unlike your dad, once I was old enough to get into sports, I don’t recall Mom being much into them, if at all, when they were in LA. Perhaps this was because she became a Braves fan. My dad, who was not from NYC, was always a huge Braves fan.

My dad was a jersey kid who grew up rooting for the Yankees. Moved here when he was 9. His brother chose the Brooklyn/LA Dodgers as his team. No clue why except maybe just so they’d have something to argue about.
Dad became a Braves fan after moving here (along with my grandparents) cause they were on TV all the time. He would still occasionally root for the Yanks as his AL team, but he didn’t instill that on me growing up. (Thank god)

Satisfying win tonight. Braves win a postseason series for the 1st time since the 2021 world series, end a 6 game postseason elimination game losing streak, and finally win a postseason series against Philly. Braves country will be sleeping good tonight lol.

Think he was going to be unavailable regardless involving Saturday considering the babying treatment he received over the year (correct considering his injury history) and the fact it’s going to be very hot in LA on Saturday.
Martin (or maybe Elder) may be available to come back by game 3, but again, the pitching situation is as bad as 2020, though the schedule is not as bad as it was then. Braves will probably have just one shot to make it uncomfortable instead of two and that’ll be Sunday and Sale.

He most likely wasn’t available for game 1 regardless so instead of having him pitch a bullpen session which is what he would of done they. Just had him pitch in the game for 21 pitches. Also Sale asked Walt to pitch!

The earliest he’d be available is game 3 and he is better at home anyway…

He would be on 5 days rest if he pitched Sunday so it’s possible. I know he’s better with more rest but it’s all hands on deck in the Playoffs

The earliest he can come off of it is literally October 6th/Tuesday next week. So no, he is not a roleplayer in game 1.
There was some chatter about Elder throwing, but he would also be a hail mary and hasn't pitched in a game since August.
So yes, game 1 has no choice but to be a bullpen game.

You would never know by watching today's game that the Braves were 5-1 vs the Dodgers in the Regular Season. Like I've said before, the Dodgers save their best for the postseason. Braves look pitiful today. Dodgers win the series in 3.

With a $1B roster the should win.
I still pick the Brewers to go the World Series this year. They have the best pitching staff in baseball and their record proves it. The Brewers don't have much power and don't score many runs but they don't have to with the pitching they have.
Braves didn't exactly look pitiful. I'll not be surprised if this series goes 5 games

There was no way to win without a starter. If I was Walt Weiss I would of at least put Ritchie in that game instead of Smith-Shawver.
Mahle will have 3 days of rest so to me that would be the better move. Sale should get another day but either way he could probably go tomorrow if that is the decision.

I think you will agree with me that the Braves must win today. You don't wanna go down 0-2 against the Dodgers in a 5 game series.
Yes no doubt. Would be difficult for any team to come back from being 0-2. Even if it were the NLCS it would still be very challenging.
