Pattern September 2023 Discussion Thread

The high was 70 and low was 44 in Atlanta on 9-26-2001 in Atlanta, and i'm sure it was in the upper 30s in much of North GA. So it can definitely get chilly in Late September. The previous year, in 2000, it was 67 for a high on 9-26-2000 with a low of 51. On 9-29-2003 the high was 67 and low was 46.
Weather is crazy with the different temperatures on the same day in different years.

That's true but it just seems more difficult to get colder air in September than it used to be. It seems like even in October in recent years it's been way hotter than normal.

On the flip side of that though, it’s felt like April and May have had a lot more cool spells over the last few years.

Pretty annoying how it rains everywhere around Athens - to the north, east, south, and west on different days. Haven't seen the first one of these in our city. 30 miles in any direction? sure - flash flood.

I wonder if this continued micro drought is what's causing storms to go different places.

I wonder who would win in a drought battle between Athens and Jonesville?

I remember a few days ago when it was supposed to get into the Upper 50s in South Alabama tonight and tomorrow night but they will be lucky to get below 70. I hate when cool air is delayed, which seems to happen a lot.

There was a severe thunderstorm in the heart of downtown Atlanta today that dropped 2-4 inches of rain in an hour. Some serious urban flooding due to the poor drainage system in spots. No flash flood warning was issued which feels like a miss from FFC. See below for some images from a local Instagram account. Flooding inside at the Aquarium as well as Mercedes Benz Stadium5FE7AED3-B6A0-4A85-843A-14925164E3EB.jpegF2074991-A009-4B14-9314-829AC54846CD.jpeg4512725C-7559-4711-9167-A60DB4711F8D.jpegA28327AC-F594-4BF2-9C89-75C64A8CFA89.jpeg

I absolutely believe it. I’ve noticed that places near me that get a storm, is much more likely to get hit again the next day, while I stay dry.

I'm lovin it low of 67F this morning w/low Dews & Humidity.. Here around Topsail Island this morning.. Agree @Shaggy ??

I started watering the clover in my garden from my well yesterday, but woke up this morning to a very light shower. It's not much but I'll take it
