Pattern Scorchtember

West and north Ga has done great in the past few years. East Georgia has sucked since 2011. East Georgia and SC are the ones that should be angry. I KNOW I AM! See name!

I just want a good storm to track that actually produces for my area. The last one that was really good to track was 2014 and I had no clue about models and all that.

Really sucks but this above normal hot pattern still looks to stick around for 10-14 days in some fashion. Things probably start to shift around between the 15th and 20th but not much of a guarantee they change for the positive. Something to watch is another period of -ao and the Pacific typhoons altering the pattern. In the best possible scenario we get a big eastern trough, in the worst we get more ridging and a Pacific jet extension.

Im rooting for you this winter. You and your kid deserve it.
I'm rooting for all of us this winter; deep down we're all kids ... don't believe? ... read the posts ... my kiddishness is just sometimes on the edge ... but only intended to add child levity ... yup ... I'm rooting for all of us kids here this winter ... 'specially me ...

Post Script to the above ... If I get something, the rest of the crew is guaranteed (all being north of Hogtown, it would be inevitable) ...

So can we get an Octoburrrrr thread and beckon the preferred temps?
I'll take a cool October! Would rather torch in November so maybe the pattern flip will occur during winter. Lately Nov has been the only month we can get below average most years. Unfortunately that usually doesn't carry over into winter.

Girlfriend told me to find out when it's gonna start to feel like fall I told her I would investigate and let her know. Not sure how I'm gonna break the news to her.
Do you work for the government? If you do, you don't have to be in any rush to get back to her.

I think by mid-month we shift to a more humid summer time pattern with more rain chances.

Belive it or not, there's now a slight chance (20%) of t'storms in the forecast today. :D

No change in site, going for the warmest month this year.

Got a record tie here today already, with a good hour of heating to go ... ties 1983 ... so let's see if December follows suit ...

(problem being, 9/83 was way BN)

Im actually surprised 95 was a record. I thought mid 90s were routine there in early Sept ?

No kidding, I have an astronomy app that tells me the highest solar angle for each day of the year for my location. I've been eagerly checking the solar angle each day when I wake up. The temps don't seem to care though. My high today soared to 98F, just 3 degrees shy of the record. No end in sight. Here's hoping that October is a very different story for ALL of us here on this board.

Yeah its like the sun angle doesnt matter. It could stay below the horizon all day and it would somehow find a way to make it to 90 degrees.

Another 100 degree day today so much winning

Sun angle is so overrated :D

Next time, you need to keep your big mouth shut and not jinx things when bragging abiut the lack of triple digits. :p

On a serious note, how many 100*F+ days havs you seen so far this season?

I can’t believe we are seeing a repeat of last September. I thought THAT was the worst Sept and 1/2 of October I had ever lived through but this next week has me wondering if this is just the new “normal”. These retched and vile temps are the worst. I love a good snowstorm more than anyone but it’s alot more tolerable at 38 degrees wishing it were lower than these anomalies. Yuck...vent over.

actually it hasn't been too bad overall because we got a late start, but apparently we're making up for it now, I think were around 15 or 16 which the average is 18 but usually we're done by now

could be worse, 2011(I wasn't here) had 70 lol
