There is a watch in our area
Currently under a tornado warning in Loganville, I hope this doesn't continue all day, the poor kids are in the hallway in a position that is very uncomfortable! stay safe everyone!

I think most school systems around this area are probably early dismissal due to weather, although I've only seen one county doing it right now.

Power is out here in winder. I would have to guess we had 50mph winds at the height of things. All is quite now

Tornado Warning Spartanburg
Intense lightning here in Iredell. Believe there is a boundary overhead. Don’t see anything on the ground to the west where a confirmed tornado briefly touched down.

Guilford and Forsyth in NC are early dismissal.
Iredell Schools dismissing immediate release in less than 1 hour right before the storm hits that produced a tornado to the west. Ok.
This one’s just to my SW. Extrapolating, this thing’s about to go directly over head
Station recorded 39mph gust in the last storm
Weather station saying were getting rates of 2.27in an hour

Sounds like heavy damage in Spartanburg from listening to the scanner feed.
My station briefly reported 6 inches an hour. Right now over 2
Sounds pretty bad. Sounds like a Ford dealership lost its roof?
I don’t think the rain always matters. We’ve been raining for 12 hours straight here in the upstate yet there’s a tor-warned cell tracking to my SW right now
Listening to scanner sounds so sad to hear about Spartanburg with this type of damage

Well, that Tornado Warning we had earlier (9:40 AM) was a little too close for comfort. Cell passed just east of UGA and downtown Athens. We were huddled in our tornado shelter until 10:12 or so. Decent job by UGA Alert system (albeit a tad slower than phone apps).

Not gonna lie but major disappointment with the line in Iredell that is producing tornado warnings East and west. Little to no wind and some moderate rain. Headed back home to monitor flooding as tornado threat is done IMO.

Sounds horrible in Spartanburg. Apartment complex with trees on cars and people entrapped per radio traffic.

If the tornado warning in Greenville gets extended it will go right over my head in Spartanburg

Any word on RNK's radar? Bad time to be down.
For me it’s done. Not chasing East or down south along the state line. I don’t believe the HRRR will be right with any tornado potential later today for counties north of Charlotte.
