FWIW the end of the latest Hrrr run is trying to redevelop storms in western Alabama.
The couplet weakened a bit before entering Jasper. Now it is starting to restrengthen now.

It was. Brandon Clement just drove through town and I couldn’t see any major or minor damage for that matter. They got extremely lucky

That's what's so great about the CC technology. We saw the couplet relax and the CC showed no debris.......its now much tighter with a distinct debris sig and CC drop so it's pretty clear it cycled while going over jasper luckily.

Is there anything scientifically that makes this happen? It happened with the last severe threat we had here.

That debris signature is crystal clear atm
Another thing to watch. Band of thunderstorms is a good bit ahead of where the HRRR has it and so far hasn’t really grew into a big MCS yet. Disorganized MCS= shallow cold pool = more instability.
I bet that inflow tail on that thing looks scary in person

HRRR is running and likes the idea of some discrete supercell action in South MS early tomorrow morning.
Yeah, this doesn't really bode well for tomorrow as far as a hopeful, bust. Yes, the dynamics will be different, but the end results the same. Pay close attention tomorrow and don't rely on any particular model. These tornadoes today were not expected, at least on this level of destruction.
