Its this stuff that makes me worry for the future of America. It's too divisive. Instead of making a war against one viewpoint it's best to work with them or try to. You might learn a thing or two outside your own bubble of reality if you open your mind up too.

The problem the GOP will start to face is they have no coherent attack against Impeachment.

First they cried process so now they got the vote they asked for to "legitimize" the inquiry. The only thing they got from it was the talking point that 2 Democrats voted no along with every republican.

They cried about the way Schiff was guiding the questions so the WB agrees to answer any written question under oath with threat of perjury as long as it wasnt fishing for his identity......now all of a sudden written questions arent good enough........they were for trump even without being under oath

So the Republicans have had thei bluffs called twice and all they've been able to do is act like a kid crying for candy until he gets it then throwing it down and crying it wasnt the candy they wanted.

Cant argue facts, cant argue process, cant say they have no access to WB......they're running out of excuses.

This link is what I'm referring to. So just before kushner and trump go to isreal kushner gets 30m loan. Now nothing can be proven as corrupt but the optics are bad.

So in perspective Biden Jr getting 600k a year or 50k a month it would have taken him 50 freaking years to get what kushner got at one time while he was acting as a policy maker in middle east peace process where he very heavily favors isreal.......wheres the red line gonna be for trump supporters.

Looking at current politics, heck no. Unless there is a historic change in the Democrat party to the right, there is no red line with Trump. That is the bumpuzzleing thought about the democrats right now. With all Trump does, they go even farther left.

Washington is the swamp not the people who fill it. Washington is a trainwreck. I'm a super huge proponent of getting back to states rights. Let states pass their own HC laws and their own gun laws and then let the scotus sort it out. Get the federal govt back to meeting for a month twice a year and make their pay and benefits fit the time they are in Washington and not a get rich scheme.

The GOP is the ones who made Trump. Bush's pitiful last year's and them running McCain and Romney which enabled Obama caused Trump.

Unless Trump gets impeached, I don't see them ditching him, which will certainly make for a very interesting election cycle.

We live in a country that is going broke and blaming poor people for it. It's the people who don't work for a living, not the 70 thousand dollar bombs we drop from 28 million dollar drones, that cost 4000 dollars a hour to fly, on people who make a dollar a day. It's the social security program that has been robbed by politicians for years not the 1.5 trillion tax cut. We can't afford to help keep our citizens healthy but we can afford to protect oil. Handouts are only handouts when they are to poor people. We give a blank check to defense contractors but want to require welfare recipients to meet standards our politicians wouldn't tolerate. I would love to see work requirements and drug tests on politicians on all levels.

Yeah, I was watching CNN and they’re clearly concerned about what these NYTimes battleground state polls are showing. Of course, Fox News this evening was ecstatic. This imo in itself cannot be considered good news for Dems. Is this a reflection on far left candidates like Warren getting more attention and support and thus causing swing voters to get spooked from supporting the Dems, especially with the economy and stock markets so strong?

Sure I mean all of these would close up down the stretch, that said Trump supporters are underestimating just how much people are tired of Trump's crap. Ironically Warren and Sanders and the entire progressive wing ( AOC etc ) probably would not have much of a chance without Trump. Trump is firing up the Dem base and creating a situation that I don't think exist if a more moderate GOP candidate was president or running instead of Trump. The Dems would have to run to the center to beat that person, however they know whoever wins the Dem nominee will get a lot of support this time around just to get rid of Trump they will take ANYONE.......and its emboldened the progressives to try and force Warren or Sanders to the top.

I do agree 100% though that Warren or Sanders would be a toss up and one of them 2 is the only real chance Trump has at winning, Biden will destroy him.

Polls did a good job in 2016 contrary to what most people think, most had Hillary and Trump within the MOE the last month or so......Hillary was a 2 pt favorite on election day with a 4pt margin of error.....so it was a wash.

I don't know, I think Fox is much more likely to try to charge up Trump voters. There is a big disconnect somewhere as the liberal NYT only have Biden by 2-3%.

Also a chunk of those were the weeks leading up to election, a few the day of, many earlier on had Clinton with double digit leads and in fact I recall comments like "Clinton is going to mop the floor with Trump", "landslide", etc. Heck I voted for Trump but didn't stay up to watch the results because I had already conceded to a Clinton win and I had a job, life would carry on as normal.

With that said my point is this - polls aren't that reliable at any time especially a year out, drawing conclusions on either side 12 months from election day is just premature.

I'm curious, what policies and/or issues do you think there should be compromise and what should each side give up to make a true bipartisan effort?

I don’t have any specifics to suggest but rather I just want to see a general desire for more compromise/working with the other side than what we have now as I think it would be better for our country’s unity. Let them figure it out. Back in the 1990s, Gingrich and Clinton worked together well. Also, as I recall, even the NE liberal Tip O’Neill and Cali conservative Reagan (my favorite Potus of my lifetime) worked together and actually were friends despite their major differences on issues. Why can’t we have more of that now? Nobody can have their own way on everything. A unified country doesn’t work that way. Now about all we have are extremes on both sides and few moderates/compromisers.
