Pattern Outside of the SE thread

Garrett County averages over 100 inches of snow in parts during the Winter. It seems like they have a WSW like twice a week. NW Highland County in Virginia is looking at 4-6 on the map. Beautiful but expensive places to live if you're a snow lover.

It's snowing again tonight in Illinois. It looks like we get some more tomorrow afternoon as well. Only like 1/2 inch or so though.
They still have plenty of snow cover in Virginia's higher elevations as well as evidenced by this webcam. They also have a WWA for 2-5 additional inches tomorrow pm to midnight.

Hightown Virginia got 7.5 inches of snow last night to put it over 2 feet now for the Winter. Elevation about 4200'.

Time to see if AccuWeather is worth anything again lol but dang that's a cold stretch showing up. Like we can quote me later but I refuse to believe we won't have an interesting stretch eventuallyScreenshot_20260102-080219.AccuWeather.png

Yeah you would think eventually we would get a winter event like that even down here

But I'm just glad to see moisture back because we can't go all winter without rain
I still think something like this will happen this Winter. Should make a lot of people happy. I'm already at 20 inches. I don't need much more than that.

Oh yeah honestly I just want one good storm and we can move on haha

@Webberweather53 seeing as you're out that way and enjoy long-term forecasting. What do you think about the end of Jan/Feb for the Rockies areas of Colorado? Got a trip to Steamboat in late Feb and wondering if things might get a little better that way before then?

The Euro shows a parade of small events for the Mid-Atlantic through the 20th, with some substantial snows in the mountains.

Apparently the dust bowl is also true during the winter

Oh don't even get me started again haha

When the highlight here in the last 6 weeks is a tornado warning at 8am it's a joke. That's like when I lived 4 hours from the Gulf stuff. Not here. It comes and goes but im still pretty bitter at times about how this winter has been so far. It's not just here it's everywhere I've seen guaranteed snow the last few years

I know January is usually dry here and second year Nina suck here usually but come on

Needless to say February better be really impressive at this rate because well it hasn't snowed in March in 4 years why start now
