That gefs look would be fun.If we do get a -EPO the right time and way without trying to bring back the SER, and get the TPV in our backyard, man that could be some serious cold
Looks like a December to Remember. The question is for how weeks will the pattern be two weeks away? The CMC is on team GEFS.

That looks like it would suck! 10s/0’s highs for me!? No thank you pleaseWe know the hour 384 gfs sucks and is a meme, but it sorta matches what the gefs shows regarding the TPV, at this point it’s fun to look at View attachment 54175View attachment 54176
Man if member 1 was to verify I’m definitely snow chasing down southCheck out these incoming monsters on members 1,6,19... only 384 hours to go boys

I'm more focused on member #1!Man if member 9 was to verify I’m definitely snow chasing down south
Lol and you thought you hated cold and dry down here when highs were in the 30s-40s without snowThat looks like it would suck! 10s/0’s highs for me!? No thank you please
I fear it's just the gfs doing what the gfs does. That said though the models want to send up another round of Ural ridging in the D7-10 and the tpv gets lobed into siberia. Maybe if we get lucky all the cards fall our wayWe know the hour 384 gfs sucks and is a meme, but it sorta matches what the gefs shows regarding the TPV, at this point it’s fun to look at View attachment 54175View attachment 54176
The few caveats we will have to contend with as the pattern switches to -EPO is its early in the season when the volumetric snow and ice in the northern hemisphere is relatively low, background sea surface temps in the NH are at their highest for the entire winter, and the preceding extremely warm spell across most of Canada may sap many of these areas of snow cover, thus any incoming air masses may modify more quickly upon arrival here and we may need to see this pattern persist for a little while to fully suit our fancy & rebuild the snow pack in N AmericaWe know the hour 384 gfs sucks and is a meme, but it sorta matches what the gefs shows regarding the TPV, at this point it’s fun to look at View attachment 54175View attachment 54176
Lol I just corrected my post I meant member 1I'm more focused on member #1!
You live in freaking Montana. Why would you travel 1,500+ miles to chase a southern snowstorm ?Man if member 1 was to verify I’m definitely snow chasing down south
I don’t know what I’ll do if I came close to seeing highs that freaking low hell im in Montana and I barely can get through these temps with the winds everyday lol I wonder what kind of extra gear I would needThat looks like it would suck! 10s/0’s highs for me!? No thank you please
Because I’m a snow weenie and can’t help itYou live in freaking Montana. Why would you travel 1,500+ miles to chase a southern snowstorm ?

Up here 2009 / 2010 and 2010 / 2011 was great. 12,13,14 at least for me not so great. 2015 really good and 2016 saw the January mid Tennessee thumper with widespread 6-12 inches of snow for most. I got 12 inches which you can see in my avatar. 2017 was the worst winter ever since I’ve lived here and first and only were I never received more then Fluries and literally only 3 or 4 events of Fluries total. 2018 came back with a bang but 19 was garbage and 2020 was only slightly better.Darn i forgot that one. 2012-2013 sucked. Then 2015-2017 sucked.
I have never seen 12 inches in a single storm in my life. The most I ever saw was in March 1993 with 10". I wanna see a foot before I die ! That is really hard to believe that a location as far north as you could go a winter without seeing any accumulating snow.Up here 2009 / 2010 and 2010 / 2011 was great. 12,13,14 at least for me not so great. 2015 really good and 2016 saw the January mid Tennessee thumper with widespread 6-12 inches of snow for most. If I were her and he came home with a "foot", I would be asking him who the other woman is! I would be demanding answers!!!That’s what she said
A foots not normal? ?That’s what she said
Some of us aren’t 25ft tall.A foots not normal? ?
I was in Birmingham during that time and it was absolutely awesome.I wonder how many snow events busted for the south since the 2010-2011 winters in my book when I was in Birmingham those two winters was awesome we even had days of flurries after a snowstorm and those winters was cold I mean cold ?
Oh no is that the southeast ridge
Got to be able to smell the ridge, to get the best snows! Need just enough to keep suppression out of playOh no is that the southeast ridge

This is different, that’s at 10mb and it shows warming of the Stratospheric polar vortex/some displacement, this is good for winter weather lovers as it would likely bring a TPV along with it, 500mb is differentOh no is that the southeast ridge

Oh okay that makes sense. Sorry I saw the red over the southeast and said oh no lolThis is different, that’s at 10mb and it shows warming of the Stratospheric polar vortex/some displacement, this is good for winter weather lovers as it would likely bring a TPV along with it, 500mb is different
