From what I can tell, this means that the westerly QBO may propagate downwards weakening the MJO, and lowering the AAM.

Although at the same time, the northern wave for when the trough splits is at a very safe distance, unlike the GFS. It is also weak.
I stg... if I have to watch the ATL burbs pick up a foot of snow, while CLT is get's a cold rain, mixed with snow. I will be out of this city like a bat out of hell! That was pure hell for us Charlottean's!

That ULL on the GFS is nuts ! To find any 850 levels as cold or colder you have to switch the View on TT out of the CONUS and to North America .

I guess I’ll take a cold first half of December . It’s not what I want but better now than mid January imo. Besides , as long as there isn’t any absurdly low temps forecast and it isn’t cloudy I’ll be fine !

Pretty good model as you get close to verification. However, it has been know to have a cold bias at longer lead-times.
The 00z NAM looks really good, wave extending into SOCAL is what we need! Digging much more than 18z!

Trough definitely getting way out a head of the wave is a great sign.
