That was about all that winter had but it was nice. 2011-12 did not have any major winter storm in it at all except up near the VA border in the mountains and foothills. We did not get a single snowflake or sleet pellet here that winter.

Even a bad winner can have it’s fun times. Take out the last 2 weeks of January 2000 and that winter would be horrible

Oh boy are you right about that. Those 2 weeks were something else. I will never forget the Carolina Crusher as long as I live. 1 foot of snow here and I felt cheated LOL. 18-24 from Union county NC up to Raleigh. Same thing in 2004 except that the biggest totals were concentrated to the south and southeast of Charlotte.

Apparently warm waters up there aren't ideal either. Maybe one day, we'll figure it out.

Certainly have to watch for isolated flash flooding tonight models picking up on areas who could see heavy rain for a longer period of time .. luckily worst hits overnight so hopefully not too many impacted on the roadways at least

Back building looks fairly healthy here I wonder how much rain will pile up by morning time. I suspect we could even go higher than 1-2 inches at this rate

You ungrateful man! You see the dryness is God testing your patience . You have to be patient and grateful. Think about it , you could be shetley and never see a drop of rain year after year .

I’ve noticed that at least for N GA, with each new GFS run that frontal passage will be providing a nice shot of autumn weather by next weekend. Let’s hope it holds…

Ended the event slightly under at 4.12". Still a lot of rain for a few days in October but not as extreme as the 5 to 6 they expected. Had everything to do with the rain splitting into AL and SC vs streaming through GA like the modeling initially suggested
