You can see the decaying eyewall from when Milton was a Cat 4 this morning...new eyewall is a hot mess when the plane sampled the NE quad surface winds were Cat 1-2 at best...seems likely the feared swath of 100 mph gust across Florida is less likely now.

CAT 1 at landfall if they do a pass within an hour of it hitting. Storm surge looking pretty meager at this point as well.

Thought the same. Sure looks to be wrapping up on the south eye wallHeck I would almost argue Milton looks better now than 4-6 hours ago.

Most likely S of the trackI see that the feeder band that produced all those tornados has pushed offshore. I presume the tornado risk is reduced? Tornados are not in my weather weenie wheelhouse.
