Thats just media hype. Nobody should listen to anything like that. Nobody knows yet. Only thing that will be destroyed is the northern islands.https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2017/08/22/hurricane-cost-florida/560846001/
USA today saying could be a $300 billion hurricane if it hits South Florida
Katrina was 108 billion...
Well he was wrong about Harvey of becoming a hurricane, so i hope hes right about thisJames Spann says theres pretty much no way this goes into the Gulf so im gonna trust him.
LOL at the people essentially wishcasting this thing in to their backyard. One of the worst operational models is being took to the bank because its what people want to see. The Euro isnt named the King for nothing.
He is wrong more often than not nowadays when it comes to big weather events. Great at nowcasting severe weather...not so great at forecasting tropical or winter events.Well he was wrong about Harvey of becoming a hurricane, so i hope hes right about this

Oan. I really hope this thing goes out to sea. I am enjoying reading all of your input and enjoyed the live show last night.![]()
I totally agree. Way to earlyOne thing to bring up again, we are relying on weak diffuse trough/ULL to pull this north. We have trouble getting these right a day or two before they come in. Models will bounce for a while.

Are stronger hurricanes less likely to be influenced by features such as a trough ?

I kind of had a bad feeling it would make it to a 5, but I never even thought a 185 mph cat 5 was possible here. Just insane to think that it could gain more strength too, and maybe even around the Keys.Yeah I seriously can't believe what's happening right now... We might have a 185 mph category 5 hurricane at 2pm. This is essentially a 30-40 mile wide EF-4 tornado
