Yeah I think inner core dynamics and the development of a new, larger eyewall (yet again) are probably to blame for this but yeah this is probably not a negligible shift in track in the immediate term. If Irma hits Hispaniola then that could implicate the central & even western Gulf coast, including Texas so we really don't want that to happen for the sake of the US...

Just looking at the euro it should head just about north post 144. The shortwave is diving in and should capture it. Probably a SC hit

Until there is some recon, and more than one run at that, it is pure speculation; but ... up the coast is a dire thought - Floyd, Matthew ... However, my very humble suggestion is to take it all with a grain of salt until recon ... then get the toilet paper out ...
