FYI: Just passing along saw on other board:

ECMWF (European Center for Medium-range Weather Forecasting)
• Hydrostatic, global spectral model
• Incorporates a no “bogus vortex”
• Includes the “4-D assimilation” of environmental observations

GFS (Global Forecasts System)
• Hydrostatic, global spectral model (NCEP’s model)
• Incorporates “vortex-relocation” based on initial model runs
• Includes the “3-D assimilation” of environmental observations

Please note this is dated from 2015 and sourced to University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

What's that over Louisiana!!? ULL?
Yes also a slp, either tropical or maybe subtropical.... but the ULL is there
then it heads north up the Mississippi valley region. Not really the right thread but behind Irma, behind Jose appears to be another wave coming off Africa.....wow!

Tonights 0z run should inialize better I would think. Anybody seen the UKIE?

I really don't like seeing that "cutoff" feature over the SE with Irma approaching.

Well..... guess what else that deep trof will do in that position? Vent the hell out of the area Irma is heading into
