Looking at radar and the hrrr might not be too far off with some of those rainfall totals, cells starting to train

This is yuge and may in fact have lasting implications, I predict it has severely damaged the snow shield thus Winter is about to make a return to Harnett and southern Wake Co....
 
I was at a junction of the southward moving outflow and an eastward moving boundary and when they hit it was a cool 15 minutes of swirls and twirls and now a its caused a spinup and tornado warning 15 miles northeast of me.

Pretty nice stratiform band moving from SW to NE here with not much E movement of the line.

Some lightning strikes to your w/sw still too, you might be in for a good hour or two of moderate rain with some rumbles of thunder....what a great July evening

No kidding nice to have this during one of the climo hottest weeks of the year. I actually wouldn't be shocked to see a few showers/storms around tomorrow evening. We may have just enough lingering moisture to generate a little bit of cape interacting with the base of the trough to kick something off

You definitely have a small shot, lots of cold air aloft for this time of year aswell, Low EL, decent setup for shallow convection, maybe even some small hail A0FB2337-850C-4C11-902F-7B895547D034.png

I dont have any way to tell, but I would guess that the rainfall rate is currently at least .5"/hr.

The GSP fook zone in full effect! 3 drops on the windshield today, with the arctic apocalypse cold front of doom! Just sad! Thought I could take a break from watering for a day or two, thanks Mother Nature! I hope y’all are enjoying your tornado warnings and flood watches, I’ll keep my fire danger weather alerts to myself! ??

I see a 55 degree reading already in NC. Going to be some 40s soon
 
been such a weird day, drove down from Dallas to Galveston this morning and basically followed fropa, been an almost cool breeze even down here tonight! The local Houston met on TV earlier said this is more like October to have a front in the Gulf

Dallas won't be too far off record lows it appears
