Most likely gonna have to wait for a hurricane threat(and that's usually more the latter part of the month), August is usually very boring otherwise
 
Saw two nice cloud to ground lightning strikes and we had some rain. That's it
 
Rain Cold we might have a chance later this evening, radar is really lighting up the west and southwest

Hopefully it'll move in here before we lose the bulk of the instability. I love big nighttime lightening producers.

Looks like we are going to have to wait on the stuff along I85 since the stuff coming from near Charlotte died. Not very confident at this point

Nah it's not happening. GSO is the place to be if you like actual weather. They are probably going to get at least 5" of rain tonight alone.
 
HRRR says where done for today but tomorrow looks good for the Wake area.

Getting a nice little thunderstorm right now, slow moving and lots of rain and thunder! Guess July wanted to make a ruckus before August started!!

Definitely sounds like a nice storm hearing a lot of thunder around here the last 15 minutes. Starting to get some light rain here as well. Heaviest rain may stay south of me but maybe some more development will occur

Precip totals each month are good, problem is it's usually in just 3 or 4 days. Just like now on a 8 day bone dry stretch that may or may not end over the coming days (feast or famine)

This getting 1-3 inches of rain in a 4 hour window then nothing for 7-14 days stuff sucks. My yard definitely got really dry in the last few days with a lot of grass wilting going on

I think my monthly total was somewhere around 1.5" with 0.99" coming in one day two weeks ago.

Really dry for MBY.

I'm on the opposite end. I can't even remember how much exactly I've had but the rain total map has me at 8" the last 30 days. We of course had that one event where I had several inches in one night. It really is just luck.
