I have seen the euro cave to the GFS as well. Not often. In fact euro is also struggling with the pattern as well.

Once you reach well below -20-25F you start having trouble breathing because the air is so cold. It's not a fun time

Lowest I've experienced was -11 in Murray, KY 1989 with wind (no idea what the wind chills were). Totally takes your breath away, and not in a good way.

I wouldn’t necessarily say desperate. That would be in early March and winter is about to be over. Since it’s still only December 26, we’ve got plenty of time to score.
