Albany, Ga, is already 84 at 1PM, 3 above the record for today! And the 84 is already 2nd warmest of anytime in Jan back to the late 1800s with only the 86 of 1/29/2003 warmer.

At SAV, it is already 81 at 1 with the daily record of 83 not far away and even the monthly of 84 not too far.

The winds have picked up here in South Louisiana. The humidity, temperature, and wind feels more appropriate for a day in March over here. The cold front can't get here soon enough!

It's 78 degrees at KFFC, happy new year! Some storms are trying to break through the cap, but they are mostly isolated. Wasps are gathering pulp for their nests. Azaleas are putting out new leaves. It's crazy hot out for January.

I agree. That is what I would be looking for if Atlanta were to have a shot. Hopefully there is some deep cold air to work with, though, not super cold shallow air which would result in ice and sleet.

RDU appears to have hit 79 based on unofficial 5 minute obs., which would be 4 above the daily record and 1 from the monthly as Lick said. Even at 78 it is the warmest day since way back on Nov 10th!

Meanwhile the 12Z ensembles all look nice to the end.

Pretty great. The ridge axis looks a bit too far east but retrogrades to a great location. Then you've got evidence of the stj undercutting the ridge. I just hope it's not a headfake.

So great to not be looking an an Aleutian ridge 10 days out anymore...so far. Lol.

Need a low bumping into this airmass. Deep enough to be cold but not supress to Cuba. Lol
