Tropical Hurricane Ida

Yeah I sort of just automatically told my mom that "this will be a major" earlier this afternoon.

That's just the way things have been in the gulf of late.

Something ill say. I don’t know how drastic of a shift in track we see east or west. But I believe we will have a lot more clarity on track after this passes Cuba. Because to
Me it be after cube this gets its act together. Of course the big High pressure has to be watched any breakdown with that would create a significant shift east.

I personally think you are likely to see something take over here near this circle. I can see some turning starting to show up before the VIS went out.

You know it makes sense we would see a center relocation. Happens a lot with waves in this area.

I wonder how the land interaction with Cuba will affect the storm, I was under the impression that the part of Cuba Ida will be crossing over is flat but there are some hills it seems after looking at a topography map.

Though the storm is moving so fast and the it's crossing over is so narrow that the land interaction might not do much.

I WOULD SAY LITTLE TO VERY LITTLE. GIVEN THE FACT THE MOST OF THE "HILL COUNTRY IS ON THE NORTHERN SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN AND DEPENDING ON WHERE IT DECIDES TO CROSS YOU ARE TALKING 20+/- MILES MAX OF MOUNTAIN INTERACTION AND DEPENDING ON FOWARD SPEED THAT INTERACTION WONT LAST LONG

Looks like a north movement on the satellite. I really can't see this moving so far west into Louisiana from this location.
It's really hard to see a way for Ida to get further east than Mobile in the face of the modeling. Not impossible given a true COC may nit yet be defined, but still.
