CAD definitely seems to be driving further south. You have the 1028 mbar down to the NC/SC border this run at Hr39.

Very light precip breaking out at Hr54 with some light ZR on the NC/SC border.
12k NAM has been pretty rock solid the last few runs as to where/when ZR starts. Right around the NC SC 6z Wednesday

Still on HR57 with very light ZR in the piedmont and very northern upstate. Still have another 12 hrs minimum before you even remotely get into the NAMs range.

The DPs difference between the 12k and 3k nams are night and day. the 3k is in the mid 20's across the upstate and NC
I’d roll with the 12k here, since the 3k is just now getting into the outside of its range.
This is gonna start to hurt, even for fringe areas if we get a slowing trend to continue, the slower, the more widespread the freezing rain will be
