Pattern Dry July 2024

0.22 at the house and radar is clearing up. Hope to see more redevelopment later. Still hearing loud rolling thunder every so often. Must be some crazy ducting going on.

There's a mcv east of CHS headed north toward myrtle that should help you later and hopefully eventually me
Yeah stuff already popping so it didn't take but a few minutes. Atmosphere is just to juicy and with the onshore flow it's only a matter of time someone cashes in on a new band......just gotta hope it's your house and not 5 miles down the road

Man the forecast for these next 7-8 days is BRUTAL. I hope this "cooldown" next Friday is legitimate this summer has already overstayed it's welcome as far as I'm concerned.

So y’all went from crying about drought , to flood warnings and watches!

As of around 6:00 PM I have received 1.95 inches of rain at my home near Lake Wheeler. I went to Goldsboro earlier today and on the way home I went through some of the heaviest rain I have driven through in years. With an active hurricane season predicted, I was thinking if the rain could be a sign of things to come. Memories of Floyd and what it did to Eastern Johnston and Wayne County in 1999 were filling my head.

Sitting at 0.58 with mostly drizzle interspersed with some heavier showers the last few hours. The “good” stuff missed us by a few miles even though we were under 40db returns from the Shallotte radar. Weird but whatever. Someone’s PWS 8ish miles west reporting right at 3” today.
