18z GFS day 5 (July 2nd) QPF totals:
For Atlanta to the Up State through the NC Piedmont and then up through Viginia, some winners and many losers.

@tractor girl , thats exactly what I was inferring too..
Gfs tropical system aside that pattern after the 4th is a winner in this region for rain and it may actually have some days in the 80s before the subtropical ridge builds in from the Atlantic but 94/76 with a chance of rain is much better than what we've had imo

July may not start out so dry for me. Big increase in precip totals for me on my point and click

Have to wonder if a repeat of 1993 may be happening. No where close yet but if keeps raining up there it could happen.

Just got back from Boone. Only .02 here at the house today (..so far). Storm currently just to the north. Holding my breath to see if it can work down to my location.
There's still a slight chance before it all moves out but .14 total so far. Feast or famine, congrats to those that feasted

Some huge totals showing up near Fayetteville
Winds have shifted to the NE, pretty gusty and temp has dropped 6° to 68
Temperature is down to 65 impressive cold front for July 1st.

Nice to wake up to clouds and rain, winds outta the north gusting to 30....going to be be first day we do not hit 90 or above since June 11th I think.
63 now, really impressive
