Eh it's not great but that 1051 over the upper Midwest will do the dirty work pushing the front SE and supplying low level cold.  Probably setting up a nice ice storm just before Christmas

Isnt the 18z normally the warmest run? Oz runs hopefully will be better. Just curious if the gefs will be different than the OP run
 
Meanwhile Spann who usually hugs the GFS flipped the script and decided to roll with the euro because it's NOT showing snow showers next week.
 
Eithe way this system screams ice for some one in the southeast

James Spann confuses the heck out of me because several times recently he has said the Euro is more reliable than the GFS yet usually his forecast goes by what the GFS says.

Yes the weeklies suck , I've never liked and have been trashing them for years. but after that 18z gfs run I needed something to lift my spirits lol

thank God , wxbell has been running it but it's been very limited with data.

Looks like it runs 12z and 00z cycles.

Now we have two gfs runs every other cycle to pick from lol

The 12z GFS Para model is way more extreme with the cold (and drier) than the 12z OP model was.

RIP Talkweather...well,maybe.

Love the cold inside the perimeter of Atlanta GA this evening.  Lit a fire for the first time this season, enjoying an adult beverage, chewing on model data and celebrating my acuritie 5-1 leaving "learning" mode behind.

The pattern evolving really reminds me of Dec 2010. I remember there were a couple of threats that didn't pan out leading up to the Christmas snow. Not saying that will happen again, but this looks really familiar.

I am hopeful, especially up your way for something soon.  Lots of little waves moving through with cold shots will lead to modeling having problems nailing anything outside 3 or 4 days.

Don't doubt it at all with the Arctic air trying to squeeze everything out.  See little "specks" all over the South on sensitive radar, actually.
