Tropical 2022 Atlantic Hurricane Season thread

It’s interesting that you mention that because the last 3rd year Niña was 1995 going into 1996, and as we know the 1995 Hurricane Season was very busy… especially for the eastern Gulf Coast

Not to mention the last 2 years were also La Nina and yeah it's been a busy couple of years. I still am amazed we got lucky last year that Ida was the only real major US threat

Gefs still showing a development in the gulf from these storms pushing south.

As we get ready for hurricane season to ramp up over the next 4 weeks, be interesting to see if the nao keeps dipping negative and how it affects the Azores HP. No doubt there will be storms a plenty, but to me its all about steering. We are coming up on the halfway point of Met Summer and weve been having these roller coaster dips into neg nao territory, which seems it would steer storms off the east coast.

0z Nam and 18z Euro has something forming this weekend in the gulf

Looks like we might start seeing some hints of activity around 8/1. I wouldn't be entirely shocked to see some type of hybrid system rotate around the southern edge of the Bermuda ridge in the coming 10 days
Looks to be heading to the Gulf, Alabama to be more specific
