I'm learning very quickly people do not care who sees a monster ZR storm as long as their back yard sees snow. Sad. I now see why Larry Cosgrove did what he did.
 
I was just telling a friend he should join the board. I told him my avatar name was FallsLake. Here's his response:

"FallsLake"? "FallsLake"?!?! That's the best you can do for a name? What about DoomSayer? IcyDeath? HankeringForAnApcalypse? OhHailNo? And you do FallsLake..........

I've often wondered if their was a story behind individuals usernames. Some are obvious of course, you know like if one lives near Falls lake or they are a met wannabe lol, but others not so much. Maybe one day when things settle down we can have a tell us about your username thread.

CLT is the snow line still on the Euro with almost a perfect low track. Can't see the 850 low but still. C'mon man. Snow tracks just aren't what they used to be I guess. :p

Hey, I’m a dummy. Do we want a phase? I know timing is key about it but can somebody explain what it is/if it’s good?
 
I'm being selfish this winter since I hadn't seen 1 inch of snow or more since 2015 up until January 3. Is this upcoming weekend's frozen stuff aimed more at the southern half of MS, AL, GA, and then the Carolina's?

I think we want a phase to get more precip, but the 850s torching depends on how much the energy over the NE suppresses the WAR. I think a quicker phase would develop the system faster creating a colder system w/ more precip.
 
great, the storms this week have done into the dumpster for our area. I guess I can't complain too much because we got 6+ inches on the 2nd of January, but its tough seeing all of the big storms just miss us.

This one is not for Atlanta south, though. I could see east and northeast and maybe for a brief period north of town, some snow. The sleet and freezing rain will remain east of here. I'm good with all of this, since I've already seen snow fall. Probably keep one eye on it for the next day and then start looking ahead for another opportunity. I'm hoping we get some real arctic air in here on the next one.

I liked the separation that was showing were we had a cold front drive well past Macon, GA and then a low form along the front, deep in the gulf. A phased system will really blast my area with warm 850's. Probably get over 5 Celsius easy. All rain, cold, but just rain.
