If a gulf low forms after the arctic front pushes through and this is the end result I give up

2" isn't so bad.
Ah here comes the differing views on how much snow is a "good snow." Personally, I'm tired of getting the shaft by being right around 32/33 all night and getting 2" of sleet/snow/zr. Last year we had one that over performed and gave us 5" which was great, but I'd love to see another. It feels like we underperform 90% of the time. Now for others, 2" is a great snow and I get that, but I'm hoping for 4"+.

what a miserable comment..is that because you may be left out? Sounds like you are wishing it happens for the rest of us...really lame
I said that mostly in jest, but it has been the trend for the model runs to give and take back each different run. I know if the models take away or show only flurries in the 18z runs people will not be happy. But I digress, this is getting deep into banter territory.

Any guesses of what the weeklies will show? All guesses must be in by 5 PM EST/4 PM CST to count for this very informal contest. There are 6 total weeks but only weeks 3-6 are unknown since weeks 1-2 are already known thanks to the 0Z EPS from this morning.

My guess would be week 3 blah, neutral PNA/-AO/+NAO/Cool. Week 4-6 transitions into a great cold -NAO pattern that has been showing up for the last several weeks. Too lazy to think about each week. lol.

where you going for next's year non-winter?
I'm actually not quite certain yet. But I just can't take living here much longer. I absolutely hate it here. My options are Texas, Georgia, and Florida. I'm leaning towards Texas to be honest. I just have to learn how to deal with the extreme heat. Anyway, I will be out of here no later than July 31st.

Go back home to Georgia.

I've learned more about the NAO and why models show a Greenland Block but still only a neutral NAO. I was told by a pro-met that you can have a strong Greenland Block but a neutral NAO because of what the north Atlantic shows well south of Greenland (500 mb heights have been high). So, don't let a neutral NAO discourage you as long as you have a Greenland Block,.

Being up here has made me start to hate the cold. I like the snow but the cold really irritates me when it's not snowing. Please God if it's not going to snow let spring come early.

what's so great about Texas :p I wanna leave so bad some days :p

I would definitely not move to Texas if weather was a factor. But outside of weather, there are a lot of great things about Texas.

cost of living is gonna drive me out of Dallas eventually if the lack of snow doesnt first lol

But Amarillo seems kind of cool

Warmer than last time for all frames.

How are SST’s looking? got 2 beach vacays planned. One to Kiawah and another to Ocracoke. Better not be no ‘canes trying to take a dump on my fun this year.

I'm looking at the forecast for Gainesville, FL and they aren't even forecast to get below freezing next week. You would think with an historic cold coming, it would be well below freezing down there. Is something causing the brunt of the cold air to stay up north ?

If a wave formed, we’d still rain! Just not our year! I’m going to meet Brad and see cold!47468A70-B587-438D-9848-8F535D2124D9.png

Not sure but the initial cold push doesn’t even make it to the SC coast. Mid upper teens here with mid 30’s in Charleston

Should be easy to draw one up with a 1043 taking a frozen dump right on top of Kentucky..Next!
