Misc 2019 Banter & Friendly Conservation

I have to be honest, with the model runs that the FV3 was tossing around at times for the 26th-28th time period, if, more likely when that busts, that's the new "voldemort" and groundhogzilla for me.

28-3 is equivalent to having the Euro/UKMET/NAM/CMC/GFS giving you 24 inches of snow all the way until 12 hours out and then the RAP comes in and says rain. And you end up with a flood, followed by an earthquake.
The January 2017 winter storm was like a 28-3 for us. Virtually every model had AT LEAST 6" of snow for the Raleigh area, some had up to and over 12". It looked likely that there would be no mixing issues whatsoever and we would have a huge snowpack that could have sent low temperatures below zero. Then, just as the event approached, a warm nose appeared on the NAM and we ended up with 0.5-1" of sleet with a lot of the QPF being wasted on the dreaded 33 degree rain. A true warm nose nightmare.

Somebody promised me a rocking Feb, since October!!?? WTF
No no, you were promised a good back half of winter. That's the last 2 weeks of Feb and all most of March. #secondactbackhalfloadedpizzert!

You know what we need up in this mug? Some sweet Bob Chill to kick the funk.

Hold please....
He gone. MIA for the last 16 hours. Tells you what you need to know.

I heard that the UKmet look good for some areas, but it has no support from other models. Just when it seems like we may actually get a storm,it usually turns into a cold rain or too suppressed. This winter truly sucks and still no real chance for a winterstorm along the I-20 corridor areas.

I've personally noticed with the last few storms the UKMET has been a little overzealous with the NW trend in the medium range! Not good!
