Raleigh’s first accumulating snow in 2010 wasn’t until end of Jan that winter. We are way of ahead of that season. All is good.

I’ll just be a sucker and take the troll bait. At least cold air appears to still be in a tappable location. Most definitely another transient cold shot mid month. Might have legs this time ??

It’s pretty tough to go from mid Dec to first week of March in a weak nino without at least a small 1-2”. I hope.
At least models are finally showing something that makes sense

Despite all the negativity in the other thread, I still think the South gets at least one major snowfall event before the winter is over. The anafront next week on the GFS reminds me of January of last year which produced quite a bit of snow in some areas.

This winter will be remembered as "The Nino that wasn't". It's a little crazy how we're getting suppression but not even being overly cold at the same time...if you go by CPC right now we're technically not even in a Nino and it's neutral.
The devil part of me wants to say that we had a lag Nina with just a lot more precip given that the first half of January 2018 was ice box type stuff instead of being warm. The only part of having a Nino like winter that has been true is the STJ being active.

One time back in 1868 we had a storm just like this and it trended NW and quadruple phased and created a bomb cyclone that plastered the whole country with a blizzard. You can pretty much bank that this system will be doing the same.

The NW trend starting in earnest 6 days out is like giving Tom Brady the ball back late in the 3rd quarter of a 3-4 score football game, we’re giving it way too much time! Atlanta fans would know all about this! 28-3 ftw! #neverforget
This winter is a BUST! There is absolutely no chance anyone in the south gets any more snow. None. Maybe we can make a run at 90 degrees this February in some areas. Mega blowtorch incoming! NW trend will result in Alaska getting 70 degree rain!
